They would stimulate your feelings, your desires or your fears, not by providing images, but simply through power in the mental environment. If you are able to have an objective experience of your mind, to realize that who you are is not your mind and to objectify your experience within your mind, you can resist these temptations. But you must have another foundation within yourself, a foundation of Knowledge. Then you can build a shield; then you can prevent penetration; then you can disassociate yourself from the part of your mind that is being stimulated."

It would be too confusing. You would not be able to escape from it. This requires a very developed mind to be able to do this—a mind that is capable of experiencing prolonged periods of stillness and observation without judgment, a mind that is not driven by ambition and desire, a mind that can be calm and observant, a mind that can wait for answers to emerge rather than inventing them for its own self-satisfaction or sense of security. You do not have this mind currently, though it is possible for you to attain it over time."

But it is their allegiance to humanity that will have to be fully established, and they will have to learn to shield themselves from the effects of the Intervention, which can influence them even if the Intervention is not present in the world. For in space, influence in the mental environment can accrue over vast distances. Once influence has been established, this can take place."

"There are minds that are more powerful than yours. For this reason, you must learn to shield yourself when that is appropriate and open yourself when that is appropriate.This is a voluntary act. If you are completely open, well, you will find life to be very harsh. As you have skin and bone to protect your internal organs, you must have a shelter for yourself mentally.
