Self-confidence
"Having false notions about yourself and having grand ideas are directly related to a lack of self-confidence because there is a basic distrust of Knowledge, and so there must be a great compensation for this. Here people build themselves up in their own estimation, but fundamentally they are unsure. They must convince other people that they are what they think they are because they do not know. They must get others’ approval and reinforcement constantly because their own foundation is weak and fallible. They are without Knowledge in their evaluations; therefore, they need constant reassurance.
The man or woman of Knowledge does not need this. They do not need constant approval. They do not need to have others always speaking of their greatness and how wonderful they are. They do not need to have their specific abilities touted and celebrated. They do not need to be the center of attention."[1]
"Confidence in Knowledge, or Self-confidence at this level, is an entirely different thing than what self-confidence was before."[2]
Moving with Knowledge
"You cannot move forward if you are held back by others. You cannot get up the mountain if you are staying behind for others—enabling them; supporting them; trying to convince them, persuade them, teach them or change them. You have to break the cord. Life requires it. Knowledge requires it. You know it is true. And it will give you greater strength, it will build your integrity, and it will return self-confidence to you in taking these actions, even if they are very difficult."[3]
Without the Preparation
"People will lose hope in the face of the Great Waves of Change. They will lose hope and self-confidence in the face of the Greater Community."[4]
Humanity "does not yet have the self-confidence, or the maturity, or the skill to face this larger panorama of life."[4]
The Visitors "need to erode your self-confidence so that you feel you cannot resist them."[4]
"There are people who are becoming aware of the Great Waves of change, but who are not taking action regarding them. As a result, they are losing their self-confidence and are not beginning their preparation. Depression, cynicism, ambivalence— these are all the result of not taking action around things that one recognizes to be important. The awareness was not fulfilled, and, as a result, it becomes dark. It becomes clouded, and the inspiration is lost."[5]
