- What can God offer to humanity under such a grave and critical situation: the waste to the world of things that cannot be wasted, of land and infrastructure, of people and talents and abilities?[2]
"Can you face your own fear? Can you face your own vulnerability? Can you face the fact that perhaps you have been really wrong in your assessment of the situation, if you have given it any thought at all?"[3]
"People are confident, but is this confidence really real? Is it based upon a deeper assessment? Is it connected with reality, or is it merely a hope that is a cover for fear? Is it a pretension? Is it a sign of weakness?"…"Where is this confidence well-founded, and when does it become false and deceptive and destructive?"[4]
