"You have a great responsibility now to respond to the changing conditions of the world and to humanity’s emergence into a Greater Community of life."

Changing conditions

"You cannot become passive and think the Great Authority is going to manage and direct all things, for this is not the case at all, you see. It gives you direction and purpose. It gives you warnings. It tells you the conditions of the world. But beyond that, it is you who must navigate the changing waters, the changing conditions, the storms and the hazards therein."

Conditions of sheer necessity

"The changing conditions of the world are providing humanity with a fundamental requirement. And that is to conserve its resources, to protect its resources and to not overuse its resources. Yet that will require a great change from how people view these things today."

"Human unity will not be generated because it is held to be of high moral value. It will be generated out of sheer necessity, and the conditions of sheer necessity exist even at this moment and will grow more intense and pervasive as time goes on."

"Many people will starve, for there will not be enough food to go around to meet crisis situations. This will generate a national and international network of food production and distribution. You will need to get used to living with less—fewer possessions, fewer opportunities and less mobility. These are general things which we are describing. You can sense them in the world now, and you will feel them growing as time goes on.

Can you change all this? You can only adapt to changing conditions and use them to improve the condition of humanity and the condition of your mind. The present and the future will require a new mind, not an old mind. They will require a new response, not an old response. They will require human invention, rather than human indolence. They will require greater and greater adaptation and adjustment. They will challenge old forms of thinking and behavior. All of this is necessary, and it is beneficial. It is beneficial because it is necessary. And it is necessary because this is the evolution of the world. Humanity has grown too big and too powerful. It is having too great an impact on its own environment to continue without self-control, without Wisdom and without the sense of world community and world responsibility."

Human condition

"If you have not yet built a sufficient foundation of strength within yourself—strength representing your connection to Knowledge and the building of worldly wisdom within yourself, strength built from having meaningful engagements with other people—then you will look at life with trepidation, and you will feel trepidation because you are not yet able to deal with reality. Having given yourself so much to fantasy, having allowed your mind and imagination to be captured by the imaginations of others, your real ability to be in the world and to navigate the ever-changing conditions of the world is undeveloped. And without skill, you will feel helpless."

"What God has placed within you is not violent. It is not hateful. It does not seek revenge. It is not filled with a cruel ideology that will only oppress the next generation. It is because it has come from God. It is not a human invention. It is not simply a projection of human psychology. It is something that has grace and power, patience, courage, fortitude. This will be needed to build a new nation, to bring about social justice and to convince people who are opposed to you that you are there to enrich their lives as well.

It takes a lifetime to do this. It is not a quick and easy thing, but its value is beyond human estimation. It is what has kept humanity moving forward—improving its conditions; evolving its societies; building its science, its arts, its skills.

Everything that is beneficial that humanity has created and produced in all fields of endeavor has come from Knowledge, has come from God, working through individuals; working through committed relationships; working through great marriages, great friendships, great associations and work; working through charity; working even through government agencies. Even they can be inspired."

"Of course, many people in the world are so challenged with meeting even the basic requirements of life, they do not have this freedom to even look and consider what may be a greater purpose for them in their lives. It is a great tragedy for the human family that so much of the human family is bound by these pressing conditions. Not only is there immense suffering, but the greater potential in so many people will never be realized because they are so encumbered with their circumstances."

Changing conditions and permanent changes

"The successive Messages given over a long period of time have built upon each other and met new and changing conditions."

"The Mystery of which I speak is firm and established. It is in perfect peace because it is not changing. It is only expressing itself in changing conditions. It is without change, and yet it is moving things along. It is not growing. It is not becoming. That is why it is so still and why you must become still to have a direct experience of it."
